About KnotChat

KnotChat exists for a simple reason: sometimes you just want to talk to someone new. After Omegle shut down in 2023, millions of people lost the easiest way to do that. We built KnotChat to bring back the spark of meeting a complete stranger — without the accounts, downloads, and data harvesting that bog down so many apps.

Privacy first, always

Anonymity isn't a feature we bolted on — it's the foundation. We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number, and we never store the contents of your chats. Messages are relayed in real time and then they're gone. The only things we keep are the safety records (like abuse reports) needed to protect the people using KnotChat.

Text-first by design

We chose text over video deliberately. Text keeps KnotChat fast, lightweight, and far easier to keep safe — no webcam pressure, no unwanted explicit content, and it works on any device and any connection. It's the format that made stranger chat fun in the first place.

Built to be safe

Every connection passes a captcha gate to keep bots out, server-side rate limits curb spam and abuse, and one-tap reporting lets the community flag bad actors. KnotChat is for people 18 and older, and we expect everyone to treat each other with respect.
